"The best way to counter Naysayers is to work hard, be successful and turn them into Yay-sayers

1 - You often speak about finding your life purpose. It seems many people don’t know their life purpose. I would like to know how you managed to find your life purpose. And know what you are meant to do?

Often, people determine their path of success by the path determined by their parents. They get a degree, a job, get married, get their 2.1 kids and have a house. That is the standard path to take. And they say 76% of people following the path aren’t satisfied with their jobs. They are unhappy, because they are taking the path of success determined by others. Yet, they should find their own path of success. In life, you need to create an area of fulfillment and not settle.

1. Invest in the time to understand

Young people should invest their time to learn about their values, and skills in order to hone in the right path for themselves

2. Doing the work in a strategic way

You should do the work. It doesn’t happen overnight or over a year. If you have the experience and network, you can do it very fast. I have taught people with a 10+ years of experiences and an extensive network to become a thought leader in 3 months. But when people start out, without a network and experiences, it takes more time. It takes at least 2 to 5 years of experience to progress.

2- How do you deter the voice of naysayers in the face of adversity? How do you block out their voice and carry your way through the challenge?

First, you need to identify the naysayers. More often than not, the naysayers are family and friends. Naysayers have a fear that is often irrational and based on their own limiting beliefs. Remember you shouldn’t let their beliefs interfere with your dreams. They are projecting their own fear onto you. If you understand the reason why they are projecting their fear onto you, then it will bother you less.

Remember you can go up there and do a great job, and turn your naysayers into Yay Sayers. The best way to counter naysayers is to work hard, be successful & turn them into Yay Sayers. Create the best success for yourself.

It is also important that your partner is on board with you. When you have a partner who is not on board with your goals and dreams, something will fall apart. One of my friends told me his partner wasn’t on board with him when he wanted to fulfil the dream of getting an MBA, and starting his health practice. So I told him he will need to address this issue, or eventually they will split up. Sadly, they did split up, but now he is happy with his MBA, his new practice and his new partner. Your partner can be your biggest supporter. My wife, even though she is in corporate, fully supports my path and she understands what I am trying to accomplish. Having a partner who champions you is crucial.

3- Many University students are currently concerned with the notion of uncertainty. How do you conquer the state of uncertainty in life?

Uncertainty is always there. As a public speaker before going on the stage, I have butterflies in my stomach. It could go terrible and it can be amazing. I embrace the uncertainty and when I feel it, it’s really because I care.

The way to change this mindset is to recognize uncertainty will always be there.

The question you should ask yourself is: “do you want life to run you, or do you want to run your life? You need to take ownership of your life, align your purpose, your brand, your values and your traits, and everything you care about, then there will be more meaningful impact.

I have a very strong network of friends. I have business coaches and mentors they all help me during uncertainty. Uncertainty never gets eliminated, but I manage the feelings. ( Part 1)
